My dream car

In my dreams & future

I’m sure everyone out there either guy or girl have thought of a car which they really wanted in their life. Well for me it is the Nissan 350Z otherwise known as the Fairlady. This car is not only so beautiful but it is also one of the most affordable sports cars in the world. It has fine streamlines and a unique shape which makes it eye catching to almost everyone.

The Fairlady darling can take to you from 0-100km/h in just 6 seconds with 300 over horsepower which will sure to give you a rush of adrenaline.  This car also has the most beautiful interior with smooth lines across its dashboard and seats. The car is perfect for someone who admires beauty and power. My dream is to have this car in Black yes not the ordinary girly pink but super shiny black and glossy . After all a beautiful lady has to own a fair-lady car ;) hehe!
So what is your dream car?

So sudden to Genting and it was raining! Brrrrr

Planned at 6pm, left at 10pm, reached at 11pm and came back at 3am with my wackiest and coolest friends! :) It was super cold up there yesterday as it was raining whole day. We took one night drive up slowly to enjoy the cold breeze touching our faces. I know this sounds dumb but me and my friend literally stuck our tongues out to feel the icy cold wind haha :) Climbed up the Cradle Rock, a must stop spot every time to Genting. Later we walked around theme park and inside of the casino. Going into casino was our very first time and to much expectations, we were disappointed. It doesn't seem to be like how it looks in movies, so happy, noisy, lively and all that! It was indeed so quiet and sad place as everyone was losing perhaps ;) haha Before leaving we had some drinks and snacks to keep us warm and wait for the heavy rain to stop. What a lovely weather it was up there but when I woke up this morning it's all so sunny and hot here! :( Oh man.

You would have never thought of these :) Simply brilliant!

Back in November

My dad is a vegan where he doesn't take eggs, milk, honey or meat in his diet. Buying a cake for his birthday was impossible and me and sister decided to bake him one! It's no secret, and I would like to share it here.

Ingredients

Cake Ingredients

1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup warm water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp distilled white or apple cider vinegar

Chocolate Glaze

1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp margarine
2 tbsp soy milk
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps

As for the steps, it begins more likely like any cake. Firstly preheat the oven to 350 degrees and then you can start mixing the dry ingredients.  Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt with a fork, making sure it is really blended together and then add the water, vanilla, oil, and vinegar, and again, mix together so that it's really blended together.

If you have realized vinegar in this recipe you might wondering why? Vinegar is a common ingredient in baked goods and also the key ingredient in this recipe which has a sharp flavor. But as an acid, vinegar is often used to react with baking soda and start the chemical reaction to producce carbon dioxide and give batters a lift as they bake. Vegan cake does not have eggs in it to rise the cake up.

After the ingredients are all well mixed, it's time to put it in the oven to bake. But do remember one thing, this chocolate cake will not be too tall like normal cake. Don't panic! It's normal :) After your cake is out of the oven, it's time to glaze it. Prepare the glaze in a small sauce pan, bring sugar, margarine, milk, and cocoa to a boil. Stir frequently; then reduce heat to a simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. It'll look gloppy, but it's just the bubbles! Remove it from heat and stir for another 5 minutes. Add vanilla, stir, and immediately pour onto cake. Glaze dries really quickly, so spread it immediately and add any sprinkles now. Let it cool for 30 minutes and 'wolla' your cake is ready to be indulged!

I have included the photo of the cake we did and also the link to the more detailed recipe site as I can't recall everything. Hope you'll enjoy trying it!

Reason of a week holiday!

Celebrated on the first day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, this is the most important annual festival for the Chinese community. Each year is named after one of the 12 animals according to the Chinese Zodiac.Houses are cleaned and decorated to prepare for the big day.

Debts are settled, prayers and offerings are made. New clothes are bought and plenty of food are prepared. Family members from far come back for the gathering. New year cards are exchanged between friends and relatives. A reunion dinner for the family is held on the eve of the new year.Bad language and unpleasant topics are discouraged

There are lion dances and small fire works. Red paper showing Chinese characters of prosperity and wealth are pasted either in front or inside the house. Ang-Pow or red packet containing money is given out to children and elderly. Open house is practised for visiting relatives and friends with various ethnic races. The new year is lasted for fifteen days which the concentration is on the first three days. The celebration ends with the Chap Goh Mei on the fifteenth day.

When Angle Isn't Exactly Right

Sneaky things that make you fat!

No matter how many times you read about how overindulging in fat, protein or carbs canmake you gain weight, you still can't perfectly balance your diet. Well, join the club, because as much as we try to stay on the straight and narrow, slip-ups happen – including the ones you don’t realize you’re making. With that in mind I found an expert dietitian for her take on some of the most problematic (and mostly overlooked) ways people unknowingly gain weight.

1. Eating when you’re not hungry.
Why it makes you gain weight: There’s something about sitting in front of a TV, office computer or restaurant table that brings on the urge to chew, even if you’ve just finished eating. The fix? Distraction, says Toronto-based registered dietitian Madeleine Edwards. When you finish a meal, brush your teeth. Taking this small step means you’ll be less likely to want to dirty them. You can also try chewing sugar-free gum to keep your jaw busy, or keep food out of your view completely. As for restaurant dining, ask your server to remove food from the table once you’ve had your fill. You’re more likely to overeat if there’s a basket of bread or half-eaten plate of pasta sitting out.

2. Eating more diet foods.
Why it makes you gain weight: According to a study published in the International Journal of Obesity, sweeteners in many low-calorie and diet foods interfere with how the body processes the amount of calories it ingests, and, as a result, can lead the body to believe that other sweets it digests are calorie-free, too, which can promote weight gain. The key to keeping the pounds off? Make sure you pay attention to how much you eat, factor each calorie into your daily allowance, and don’t turn to these types of foods as meal replacements.

3. Eating richer, fattier meals once the cold weather hits.
Why it makes you gain weight: Contrary to popular belief, the arrival of fall and winter doesn’t automatically plant an extra five or 10 pounds on your bottom, but eating calorie-dense meals and lazing around can. To avoid packing on winter pudge, act as you would in warmer months. Sign up for a fitness class, eat lighter meals, and head outside more often. The bonus: Walking in bulky winter gear can add resistance (think of those heavy, clunky boots!) and help you burn extra calories.

4. Skipping meals
Why it makes you gain weight: Think of your metabolism as a furnace – when you’re not fueling it, there’s nothing to keep the fire burning. And every time you skip a meal, it lowers the flame a little further, meaning that when you do finally eat, calories aren’t likely to burn off as efficiently as they would with a constant supply of energy. To remedy the problem, says Edwards, aim to eat every three to four hours. Not only will this stoke your metabolism’s fire, but fueling up this often will help prevent cravings for sugary, fatty foods, too.

5. Buying food in bulk..
Why it can make you gain weight: Unless you have a family of ravenous wolves camped out at home, chances are, buying in bulk will only add to your size. After all, the more food you see, the more likely you are to eat. To address the problem, try these options. Stick to regular-size packages, or pick up the bulk version but divide and conquer as soon as possible. By using plastic bags or containers to portion-control how much you eat at each sitting, you’ll keep your diet in check and cut down on packaging waste at the same time.
